About Us
In 1901, HPC organized to meet the spiritual needs of a growing new community, which at that time, consisted of a fire department, barber shop, pharmacy, post office, a harness shop with a large wooden horse outside, Mrs. Arnd’s Lunchroom, and one telephone.
The chapel was a small wooden structure on East Hamilton Avenue near Harford Road. As the area grew, so did the church, and in 1911 a new granite building was built facing Harford Road. We have continued to minister the good news of Jesus Christ to the community for over 106 years
Our Purpose
We preach the good news
of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world, hoping that many may repent and accept Christ as their personal
Lord and Savior. We teach the Word so that believers may learn to walk in God’s light. We send and support missionaries, keeping the missionary challenge a prime focal point in the ministry of the Church. We offer a Christ-centered fellowship open to all.
Our Beliefs
We Believe...
- the Bible to be the inspired Word of God as given to the prophets
- Jesus Christ is the Blessed and Eternal Son of the Living God
- in the Holy trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We further believe... that unless a person places their faith in Jesus Christ as their means of redemption, they are bound for a real and eternal hell.
We believe in, and preach,
- the imminent return of Christ
- the resurrection of the body
- everlasting life
